DESCRIPTION:Scoil Samhraidh Willie Clancy Scholarship 2023\nCruit Éireann | Harp Ireland\, in partnership with Scoil Samhraidh Willie Clancy\, is pleased to announce two scholarships for harpers living on the island of Ireland to attend the Willie Clancy Summer School between 1st and 9th of July  2023 to support the rapidly growing interest in Irish harping there. \nDuring this week\, harpers will be exposed to the finest harp teachers\, traditional musicians\, recitals and concerts\, making for an immersive learning experience “Cruit Éireann | Harp Ireland’s ongoing partnership with Scoil Samhraidh Willie Clancy offers an opportunity for harpers to learn from master musicians and to develop their own creative practice as we strive to safeguard and nurture the harping tradition\, whilst ensuring that access to harp tuition is available to all”\, said Lauren Ní Néill\, CÉHI’s CEO. “Scholarship recipients will immerse themselves within the living tradition at Scoil Samhraidh Willie Clancy\, as together we support and strengthen a vibrant\, new generation of harpers\,” she added. \nTo apply\, please submit a letter clearly marked ‘Scoil Samhraidh Willie Clancy’ to info@harpireland.ie telling us why you should be considered and include a 2-minute harp recording in .MOV or .MP4 format by 5.30pm\, Friday 28th April 2023. DESCRIPTION:Harpers’ Residency at The Tyrone Guthrie Centre 2023\nCruit Éireann | Harp Ireland is delighted to partner with the Tyrone Guthrie Centre at Annaghmakerrig\, Co Monaghan again in 2023 to offer a 2 week residency for harpers and harper-composers\, living on the island of Ireland. Located near Newbliss in Co Monaghan\, The Tyrone Guthrie Centre provides the perfect haven of seclusion and quiet to enable creativity to flourish; harp players will be able to avail of its numerous facilities ranging from a composer’s room to a custom-designed performance studio with state-of-the-art facilities. \nThis residency is open to harpers and harper-composers\, both established and emerging in the Traditional Arts and/or Music sectors. DESCRIPTION:County Laois has an amazing Irish Traditional Scene. Between the tutorage from both Music Generation Laois and Comhaltas\, the young players of the county are outstanding. The Portlaoise Trad Fest team feel it is the right time to showcase the talented musicianship found in Laois on the national stage. One of Portlaoise Trad Fest’s aim is to create a vibrant session scene in Portlaoise. As well as featuring local musicians\, the festival will also bring top quality musicians to ‘The Town’\, inspiring the upcoming younger musicians. \nPortlaoise Trad Fest is for everyone. We know how much fun and enjoyable Irish Traditional Music can be. It has the power to change lives and we want to bring that energy to the community at large and show the people of Portlaoise how brilliant and exciting our traditional music is. \nPortlaoise Trad fest runs on the 28th & 29th of April. We plan to run concerts\, workshops\, youth session and a session trail\, never before seen in Portlaoise. DESCRIPTION:Summer Harp Scholarships to An Chúirt Chruitireachta 2023\nCruit Éireann | Harp Ireland\, in partnership with Cairde na Cruite\, is pleased to announce two half scholarships for harpers to attend An Chúirt Chruitireachta\, the International Festival for Irish Harp in An Grianán\, Termonfechin\, Co Louth between 25th and 30th June 2023. This five-day annual harp festival provides a unique opportunity for harpers to gain expert tuition from a range of internationally renowned harpers\, immerse themselves within the tradition and meet and socialise with other harpers. \n“An Chúirt Chruitireachta and the work of Cairde na Cruite have been pivotal in encouraging and inspiring new generations of harpers. CÉHI is  delighted to support participants who will benefit from world-class harp teaching and performances at this festival\, as well as  connecting  with other harpers of all ages” said Lauren Ní Néill\, CÉHI’s CEO. \nApplicants must live on the island of Ireland.
