DESCRIPTION:Acclaimed Irish harper Tríona Marshall will perform with Scottish singer Ályth McCormack. Alyth is a highly respected interpreter of song and a long-standing featured singer with The Chieftains. Joining them is multi-instrumentalist\, composer and producer Graham Henderson. This performance showcases an exceptional trio of artists each of whom is renowned for their deep musicality and innovation. \nÁlyth and Tríona have shared a deep and enduring artistic connection. The late Paddy Moloney of The Chieftains  described their album Red & Gold as “From the heartland of Ireland to the shores of the Island of Lewis\, Tríona Marshall and Ályth McCormack have created a beautiful blend of harp music and song — showing how closely related our music and songs are.” \nThat musical relationship has now evolved with the addition of Graham Henderson\, who is producing their remarkable new album\, Time to Leave the Darkness. Henderson has enjoyed a distinguished career collaborating with icons like Sinéad O’Connor\, Dónal Lunny\, and Iarla Ó Lionáird. His unique perspective adds a rich new layer to Ályth and Tríona’s already distinctive sound creating new textures that define their new album and will be brought vividly to life in this concert. \nÁlyth and Graham’s creative partnership has flourished over recent years\, unearthing deeply personal songs that resonate with the universal themes of love\, loss\, empathy and understanding. The process has been profoundly cathartic\, resulting in music that speaks with honesty and depth and in a shared desire to bring that experience to audiences too. \nSimilarly\, Tríona and Graham are united by a deep love of sound\, texture and musical colour. This fascination pushes them to trace the edges of their instruments’ expressive possibilities. DESCRIPTION:In 2026\, Feis Ceoil celebrates its 130th anniversary. To mark the occasion\, Feis Ceoil and the National Gallery of Ireland are joining forces to showcase the intertwined history of music and visual art over this formative period in Ireland’s history.\nFour collaborative events will be held in the Gallery’s Shaw Room over the course of 2026\, featuring important Irish art and live performances by acclaimed Feis Ceoil alumni. Each event will include a presentation on selected artworks from the Gallery’s collection\, followed by a live classical performance by the featured artist\, both commemorating a key period in Feis Ceoil’s history (1897- 2026). \nThe third in the series takes place on Thursday 1 October\, exploring the theme of ‘Modernisation and Global Reach: 1960s–1980s’. Geistweidt – “Meditation\, Mediation\, Meditation” \nAbout the featured performers:  \nEimear McDonagh began her harp studies at the age of 11 with Denise Kelly McDonnell at TU Dublin Conservatoire\, she began studying with Dr. Clíona Doris in 2020 for her Bachelor of Music degree in performance. She has been a prize winner at numerous competitions\, including Feis Ceoil\, the Wales International Harp Festival\, the Camac London Harp Festival and the Concours Français de la Harpe. Eimear was previously Principal Harp of the National Youth Orchestra of Ireland and the Fleischmann Orchestra\, under the direction of Keith Pascoe. As a soloist with the Fleischmann Orchestra\, she performed Mozart’s Flute and Harp Concerto\, and she has also given solo recitals as part of the St Anne’s Concert Series and at the Académies Internationales du Grand Paris. In 2023\, Eimear performed in the premiere of Sam Perkin’s harp trio For Three Lever Harps at the West Cork Chamber Music Festival. She has taken part in masterclasses with leading harpists including Elizabeth Hainen\, Isabelle Perrin\, Fabrice Pierre\, Agnès Clément and Anne-Sophie Bertrand\, as well as a chamber music masterclass with Krzysztof Chorzelski of the Belcea Quartet at the National Concert Hall Chamber Music Festival. In 2025\, Eimear moved to Paris to study at the École Normale de Musique de Paris – Alfred Cortot with Nicolas Tulliez. Drawing on the rich traditions of their homeplaces – Cork\, Connemara\, and Clare\, this newly formed trio presents a programme of traditional music\, song and dance that honours Ireland’s living oral tradition while embracing fresh creative perspectives. Themes of the feminine voice\, place\, and the natural world emerge in a programme developed through an ongoing artistic collaboration. Bí Liom Bí weaves together music\, song and dance in performances that are both deeply rooted in tradition and unmistakably contemporary\, featuring newly composed works by Lyons\, Ní Shé and Ní Éallaithe.
