Following on from last year’s successful event, and with continuing support from the Education Authority’s Music Service, we have another fantastic line-up for Harp Day North in Portadown on Sunday 9th Feb 2020.
Internationally acclaimed harper Cormac de Barra will perform and give workshops and special guests on the day will include:
Siobhan Armstrong, one of Europe’s foremost historical harpists performing on the early Irish wire-strung harp.
Gráinne Meyer, an accomplished performer on concert harp who hails from Toomebridge, Co. Antrim.
Dr Janet Harbison who, fresh from her Irish Harp Orchestra’s European tour, will work with the advanced group on aspects of technique and ornamentation in performance.
In addition to our soloists, the final concert will feature the Harp Day North Ensembles and two or three of the excellent harp ensembles that are doing impressive work across the country.
As last time, there will be harp makers attending to give advice and discuss your harp needs.
More details will follow in the New Year when we’ll ask you to register. Meanwhile put the date in your diary and make sure you’re free. Apart from the fabulous music, it’s a great day for catching up with friends and making new ones.
