Fiana Ní Chonaill

What is your name / where are you from?
My name is Fiana Ní Chonaill and I am from Castleconnell, Co.Limerick.

How did you start playing the harp?
I owe my nana a debt of gratitude for getting me started on the harp. Two of my aunts are All Ireland winning harpers and my nana decided that it would be nice to have another harp player in the family. I embraced the harp at age 9 and have never looked back since.

What does the harp mean to you?
To me the harp means people. It evokes the spirit of family, friends and a connection with history that is special to me and which I treasure.

What do you like most about Lá na Cruite | Harp Day?
Lá na Cruite | Harp Day provides harp players with an opportunity to bring their instruments out in public and showcase it in their communities. The selfless sharing of time, talent and skill has to be the highlight of Lá na Cruite | Harp Day each year for me.
