Harps in Harmony at St Nicholas’ Church of Ireland, Dundalk took place on Saturday 21 October at 7.30pm.

It featured Alfi, Nós Nua Youth Folk Orchestra and the Music Generation Louth Harp Ensembles.

Music Generation Louth harpers and instrumentalists attended a workshop with Alfi on Saturday 21st October, where they learned and arranged two new pieces of music influenced by our historical harping tradition. The workshop gave a great opportunity to students to collaborate with each other through the lens of different genres of music, whilst focusing on the wealth of repertoire in the Irish harp collections.

With over 100 attendees, the evening concert presented a varied programme of newly composed music, Irish harp music, and newly arranged music with the premiere of Alfi’s Lá na Cruite | Harp Day Collaboration with Music Generation Louth Harp Ensemble and the Nós Nua Youth Folk Orchestra.

Our thanks to Create Louth, Louth County Council, Deirdre Ní Bhuachalla and Music Generation Louth for their support.
