Eibhlís Ní Ríordáin

Eibhlís Ní Ríordáin is a multi-award winning sean-nós singer and harpist (early Irish wire-strung harp). She researches and sings the Déise sean-nós song repertory. She is almost unique in also researching and then performing the much-neglected, and seminal, 17th- and 18th-century harpers’ song repertory to her own early Irish harp accompaniment, on a replica old Irish harp.
A highly experienced music educator, Eibhlís (MA (Hons 1), B.Mus, LTCL), regularly tutors in harp and voice for the Historical Harp Society of Ireland, at Scoil na gCláirseach (Festival of Early Irish Harp) and Acadamh na gCláirseach
(Academy of Early Irish Harp Online). She also teaches classical piano at her home in Greystones, Co. Wicklow.
Her first sean-nós song and harp-song CD, ‘An Buachaillín Bán’, which also includes three airs played on the uilleann pipes by her beloved late wife, Patricia Connery, was launched by Ciarán Ó Gealbháin at Scoil Samhraidh Willie Clancy in July 2023.
