National Harp Day 2019

Meath Highlights

Harp music rang throughout various venues in the town of Ashbourne on National Harp Day 2019. The afternoon of music began with a lunchtime concert in Ashbourne library which was well-attended and well-received by family, friends and locals alike. There was plenty of interaction with performers and audience including opportunities for people to try the harp.

Following the concert, it was off to SuperValu Shopping Centre for a pop-concert. This was great fun with shoppers stopping to have a look and some staff coming out to hear the music. SuperValu provided an extra treat of chocolates for onlookers. Then all headed to Tesco for another pop-up performance given by Ciara Finnegan, Charlotte Cleary, Caoimhe Giles, Alannah Pettigrew, Harriet Hayes, Abby Lynam, Fiona Gryson and Jack Smyth.

It was a fantastic day of harp-playing! Huge thanks to parents and families for their support and help throughout the day and to the wonderful students for their enthusiasm, dedication and performances.
