What we are doing

Cruit Éireann | Harp Ireland is establishing a permanent, purpose-built home for Irish harping in Dublin — a dedicated cultural centre for the instrument, the tradition, and the community that keeps them alive.

Why it matters

The Irish harp has been Ireland’s national emblem for over a thousand years. It appears on our passports, our coins and our government buildings. It was recognised on the UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2019. It has a large and growing community of harpers, harp makers, teachers and audiences.

The living tradition behind that symbol is thriving; more harpers are playing than ever before. But this community has no dedicated home. That has to change.
