Events

Discover Ireland's ancient brass-wire-strung harp this summer in concerts, workshops and talks with the Historical Harp Society of Ireland's Summer Discovery Events. Taking place in from the 8th - 10th of July in Kilkenny, audiences have the chance to:

• Listen: National and international performers on early-Irish harp, voice, uilleann pipes, baroque violin, viola da gamba and theorbo perform in two concerts at the 1000-year-old Parade Tower, Kilkenny Castle.
• Learn: An illustrated lecture delving into the history of Irish harps.
• Have a go: Hands-on workshops ranging from an absolute-beginner session (using replica historical harps) to a workshop for more experienced players.
